About This Journey
A 5-day deep journey through the Garden Route — from the caves of Mossel Bay where early humans lived, to the oyster farms of Knysna, the ancient forests of Tsitsikamma, and the ostrich capital Oudtshoorn.
Itinerary
Day 1
Cape Town to Mossel Bay
Drive along Route 62 or N2. Visit the Pinnacle Point caves — site of the earliest evidence of human cognition
Day 2
Oudtshoorn & Cango Caves
Visit ostrich farms, explore the spectacular Cango Caves, and taste local Klein Karoo cuisine
Day 3
Knysna Lagoon & Oysters
Boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, visit oyster farms, hike the Knysna Heads
Day 4
Tsitsikamma National Park
Hike the Storms River suspension bridge trail, kayak in the river mouth, explore ancient yellowwood forests
Day 5
Addo Elephant Park & Port Elizabeth
Morning game drive in Addo Elephant National Park. Afternoon transfer to Port Elizabeth
